"The Learning Springs" Project

The Learning Springs (TLS) is a provider of a complete system of online education with multimedia content and internet-based lessons directed to students who do not attend primary- or secondary school for various reasons. In this system, more than one hundred lessons are offered to the students over internet, even awarding diplomas to those who complete the TLS curricula.

In August, 2004 a partnership was established between TLS, Siemens Business Services-Turkey and RtB Educational Solutions in order to extend the range of TLS' content.

In this project, where Algebra 1 and Geometry lessons prepared in the first stage, RtB is responsible for the production of the complete educational content, content that will bear the curriculum standards of the states of California and Ohio. In addition, the contents will be designed to interact flexibly with the learning styles of students studying under the system, and with a quality that can attract and focus these students' interests.

In order to take the educational quality of the TLS product to the required level, RtB has established an experienced content design team of 18 dedicated educators. The team has performed a detailed curriculum study and formed concept maps to analyse the priority order of the concepts and their relations with each other; prepared curriculum that comply with both California and Ohio standards; performed educational research identifying differences in learning styles and fields of interest of students and the skills that students will be expected to learn.

In the first stage of the project, the multimedia content produced for Algebra 1 course was 140 pages long, organized in 10 chapters and the multimedia content produced for Geometry course was 123 pages long, organized in 9 chapters. These materials have been produced in English and offered to the students of TLS school.
